Operation: Support Our Troops
  Dated : 11.01.2010

Staff collects treats and gifts to fill stockings for the troops. Monetary donations were used to buy additional gifts.Aurora, IL - Countryside Care Centre held it's annual drive to collect treats and gifts to fill stockings that are being sent overseas to our American troops.  Each year, Countryside accepts treats, personal hygiene supplies and small gifts that will be used to stuff the stockings.  The stockings are distributed among the Illinois men and women in the Armed Forces who are stationed overseas during the holiday season.  Marketing Director, Jean Bennett, said that the drive was a huge success this year.  "Not only did we get a lot of donations from the private sector, but we received enough donations from the Kane County Senior Resource (KCSR) group to fill up two large boxes."  She went on to say that "The Salvation Army Golden Diners in Geneva donated hundreds of brand new CDs."  Everyone at Countryside would like to thank all of those individuals and companies that so generously gave this year.  Jean added "It really means so much to the soldiers.  It let's them know that we are all thinking about them and appreciate what they are doing for us.  Illinois has not forgotten!"
