Countryside Care Centre - Official Drop-Off Location for Operation Support Our Troops ~ Illinois
[Aurora, IL 1/5/2010] Countryside Care Centre, 2330 W. Galena Blvd., in Aurora is now an official drop-off location for Operation Support Our Troops ~ Illinois (OSOTIL).
Following Countryside’s participation in Aurora’s 2009 Veteran’s Day Parade, our residents wanted to do more for our military personnel currently serving. Countryside has 38 resident veterans, numerous staff veterans and children of staff currently serving. It was decided that Countryside would become a permanent drop-off location for Operation Support Our Troops ~ Illinois (OSOTIL).
Operation Support Our Troops ~ IL (OSOTIL) sends care packages, letters, cards & notes of support from the community to Illinois service members currently deployed. In addition to the care package program, OSOTIL has financially supported other military service organizations, such as the USO, Wounded Warrior Project and Fisher House. OSOTIL has contributed over $125,000 for facility improvements to Hines VA Hospital.
How to Show Your Support
Most people want to support our military, but don’t know where to start.
• Write letters of support or cards to our service members. Simply start the greeting by writing “Dear Military Person,” and drop your items off at Countryside or send directly to OSOTIL.
• Donate items from the OSOTIL “wish list.” See website www.osotil.org or call Countryside (630-896-4686) for current list of top ten items needed.
• Monetary donations are always welcome. OSOTIL is funded completely by the kindness of donors. Each care package box costs about $25.00 to ship. Over 25,000 packages, an average of 120 boxes per week, have been shipped to date. Ninety-four cents of every dollar goes to military support programs. Your tax deductible check can be made out to Operation Support Our Troops ~ IL, and sent directly to the OSOTIL or to Countryside.

Countryside Care Centre is a short-term rehabilitation and long term skilled nursing facility. Some specialized services include:
• Therapy available seven days a week.
• Post-surgical care with full time wound certified nurses and aides, as well as a wound care surgeon on staff.
