Our residents are a constant source of inspiration. Their courage and perseverance in the face of often daunting adversity continually humbles us and inspires us to support their efforts to the very best of our ability. Here are just a few of their stories.

Earl’s Story

The situation:
Suffering from cellulitis and gangrene, Earl required amputation of his second and third toes. Initially, post-surgical wound care produced only limited results.

The challenge:
Arrest progress of the infection. Provide ongoing complex wound care,
Rehabilitation and management of the disease process.

The outcome:
Progressive healing over a seven week period. Renewed independence and a
return home.

Marcia’s Story

The situation:
Marcia, a middle-aged housewife, received second and third degree burns on her
neck and chest in a cooking accident.

The challenge:
Provide wound care and short-term rehabilitation, while also addressing several clinical issues that could potentially impede the healing process.

The outcome:
Steady improvement and discharge to home in less than a month. Able to resume all activities of daily living.
